WHO ARE WE

About ZSD Youth

ZSD Youth is the youth division of the Zentralrat der Serben in Deutschland (ZSD), dedicated to fostering cultural identity, social inclusion, and active participation among young people. Through various programs and partnerships, including the Erasmus+ Program, we aim to empower youth to embrace their heritage while becoming engaged, responsible citizens of both the Serbian and German communities.

Our initiatives focus on youth work, intercultural dialogue, and the promotion of shared European values, creating opportunities for learning, growth, and personal development. Whether through educational exchanges, workshops, or volunteer projects, ZSD Youth provides a platform for young people to connect, express themselves, and make an impact on their communities.

Busy Weekends at Ulme 35

During the weekends, the entire ground floor of Ulme 35—comprising the salon, stage, library, workshop, and kitchen—was filled with parents and children attending ZSD events. These gatherings provided an excellent opportunity for networking and served as self-organized life support for newly arrived immigrants.

Our mission

ZSD

We believe in the power of young people to shape the future. We create opportunities for youth to develop leadership skills, enhance their personal and professional growth, and take active roles in their communities. By participating in the Erasmus+ Program and other international initiatives, we bridge cultural divides, encourage tolerance, and foster understanding between young people from diverse backgrounds. While embracing their new home in Germany, we help young people stay connected, preserving language, culture, and traditions through engaging, youth-friendly activities. ZSD Youth promotes social inclusion, solidarity, and active citizenship through volunteering, advocacy, and participation in local and international projects.

What we do?

01

Workshops & Events

We organize workshops, seminars, and cultural events that bring young people together to discuss important topics like inclusion, diversity, sustainability, and youth engagement. These events provide a space for learning, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas.

02

Volunteer Opportunities

Get involved with meaningful volunteer work, both within the Serbian community and through broader initiatives in Germany and Europe. ZSD Youth provides platforms for young people to contribute to society and make a real difference through service.

03

Erasmus+ Projects

ZSD Youth is an active participant in the Erasmus+ Program, offering youth exchanges, training courses, and volunteering opportunities across Europe. These projects are designed to promote cultural exchange, foster mutual understanding, and develop skills in areas such as leadership, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability.

04

Cultural Programs

From traditional Serbian music and dance classes to art and heritage projects, ZSD Youth encourages young people to explore and celebrate their cultural identity. Our programs aim to create a sense of pride and belonging while promoting cultural diversity in Germany.
